What Happened to March?

We do our best to keep everything updated -- Facebook page, web site, Twitter feed, Instagram... It's exhausting! So sometimes we forget to update this, the "News" page. Seems it's been about a month, because our last post was "What Happened to February?" Oops!

Months seem to slip by! We're on the brink of warm weather (seasons, shmeasons, the temperatures don't stick to a calendar), which means cold beers in the back yard. WOOT! It can't happen soon enough! It was a long, miserable winter with people staying home and Seamlessing instead of drinking in bars, like ye days of olde. Oh well. Thank goodness we'll be complaining about the HEAT soon! And any day now, frozen drinks!

We have loads of fun stuff on our schedule for May, including Lower East Side History Month and a big "art opening" on the 17th, our usual historical cocktails and more. In June we'll be celebrating our big second year anniversary. Can you believe it's been that long? The rest of April will feature dogs celebrating The Kentucky Derby, burners sharing info about their global events and more art! Come see us!

What Happened to February?

Wow! While January dragged on, February flew by! We had 14 FABulous events and fought off the cold weather with all kinds of delicious hot toddies. It's the last day of the month and we sure are ready for it to be warmer. Cheers to March! And SPRING!

Go to a Bar, ANY Bar!

Hey, folks, consider this to be a "motivational" message:

January is a notoriously horrible month for the service industry. People are still eating, so restaurants aren't as bad off as bars. But everyone is hunkered down. Saving money post-holidays. Scared their noses might freeze off in the cold. (Doesn't it seem like the weather people are scaring us into staying home? What's up with that?) Bartenders and other staff live off your tips and may be struggling to pay their rent. So here's a little suggestion: Go to a bar. ANY bar. The bar closest to your house. Or near where you work. Order something. Tip your server. If you're doing the whole "sober January" thing or if you don't drink at all, order a seltzer or a coffee. If you have time, chat the bartender up a bit. See how they're doing. For so many people, this is the darkest, most depressing time of year. Maybe you can commiserate? Even if you're pretty broke yourself, the company might do you both good!

GO OUT! SPEND A FEW BUCKS! It will make you feel better, I swear! Obviously, I'd love to see your face at MY place but hey, I get it, it's winter. So go wherever is easiest!

Okay, that's my pollyanna post for the day.
